Family Teams Workshop: Coaching and Feedback

Working with family members is a blessing but can also be quite complex. Two of the most complex issues that arise in family teams include how to coach and develop team members, especially family members, and deliver constructive feedback. When done poorly, these can lead to destructive team dynamics and at worst, potentially damage family relationships. When done correctly, these actions can unify the team, deepen family relationships, and provide a framework for elevating team performance and productivity.

In this session, we will examine key principles and tactics for developing team members through coaching and giving and receiving feedback in a healthy and constructive way.

  • Discuss unique challenges and benefits to coaching a family team member

  • Learn a coaching model that is practical and easy to implement

  • Coach one another using a real-world scenario

  • Learn a 5-step process for giving and receiving feedback in a way that helps team members improve and enhance performance.

  • Practiced giving and receiving feedback through analyzing a case study.
